The Cliffside Park Arts Association aims to expand the role of local artists in community development — and my design work helped bring that vision to life.

As a graphic designer, I created visual materials that promoted public engagement in the arts, from event graphics to digital campaigns. My work helped amplify local voices, celebrate creativity, and make the arts more accessible and visible within the community.

The Arts Association approached me to create updated variations of their existing logo.

I began by developing several design options, then expanded on those by incorporating their slogan, “One Square Mile of Creativity,” as requested.

The organization wanted the new logo to visually represent key aspects of their mission—art, music, and film—so I thoughtfully integrated symbolic elements reflecting each discipline. They also requested a switch from a cursive typeface to a more legible font to improve readability.

At one point, there was interest in stylizing the letter “P” with a more decorative design, but after exploration, that direction was ultimately set aside.

The finalized logo was completed using the three primary colors, aligning with their vision of creativity, clarity, and inclusiveness.
